Program Manager, Trading Technology

THE ROLE

BestEx Research is hiring a Program Manager to run the delivery of our trading technology roadmap, from individual projects to multi-team programs. You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and work closely with the product, quant research, engineering (algo, trading systems and AMS), data, infrastructure, DevOps and client-facing teams.

This is primarily a program management role. You will own the portfolio of cross-team initiatives, such as major platform releases, infrastructure upgrades and expansion into new markets and asset classes, and keep them sequenced, resourced and on schedule. You will manage dependencies and trade-offs across teams rather than the day-to-day detail of individual deliverables, stepping into project-level work only where a program needs it. You will be based in Stamford and work US hours, coordinating teams in the US, the UK and India.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Program leadership

• Own the delivery plan for the product and technology roadmap, working with the Chief Product Officer to set priorities, sequence work and manage dependencies across teams.
• Run cross-functional programs that span the product, quant research, engineering (algo, trading systems and AMS), data, infrastructure, DevOps and client-facing teams in the US, UK and India.
• Break each program into scoped, estimated workstreams with clear milestones, owners and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate testing, certification and production releases across engineering, QA and operations teams.
• Maintain a clear, current view of scope, timelines, resourcing and risks across the portfolio, and escalate early when trade-offs are needed.
• Track delivery against plan, remove blockers and keep stakeholders informed.
• Report program status to senior leadership in a concise, decision-ready form.

Process and tooling

• Run Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and adapt the process to fit each team.
• Own the team's use of Jira and Confluence: backlogs, boards, release tracking and program documentation.
• Improve how work moves between product, engineering and client teams, with a focus on predictable delivery and clear handoffs.

Global coordination

• Work across time zones to keep teams in India, the UK and the US aligned on priorities and deadlines.
• Build strong working relationships with engineering leads and business stakeholders in each location.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5 to 7+ years of project or program management experience, with a track record of delivering technology projects in electronic trading (for example at a broker-dealer, trading firm, exchange, asset manager or trading technology vendor).
• Experience running programs across multiple teams and locations, including offshore engineering teams.
• A working understanding of the order lifecycle and how trading systems fit together: order management, execution algorithms, smart order routing, market data and post-trade analytics.
• The ability to hold detailed technical discussions with engineers and quants, and to translate them into plans and status updates for business stakeholders.
• Strong organization and follow-through; you keep many threads moving at once without losing detail.
• Clear, direct written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence, including managing backlogs, boards, workflows, release tracking and program documentation.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to work on site in Stamford, CT, during US hours, with occasional early-morning calls with India and the UK.

NICE TO HAVE

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of the FIX protocol, including client and venue certifications.
• Hands-on experience with execution algorithms or smart order routing for equities or futures.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum; a Scrum Master certification is a plus.
