Position Summary:
As a BPM Platform Automation & Production Support Specialist, you will provide end-to-end administration, automation support, monitoring, troubleshooting, testing, and production support for enterprise Business Process Management (BPM) platforms and related access-management processes. This role primarily supports business operations rather than IT development and requires a strong understanding of workflow administration, user access management, production troubleshooting, Python-based automation, and application integrations.
The ideal candidate will have experience administering BPM or comparable enterprise workflow platforms, managing access controls, resolving workflow failures, maintaining automation scripts, and coordinating incidents and production releases. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential to support business partners and maintain reliable day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer AWD/IIQ users, profiles, roles, workgroups, security groups, and access-related additions, changes, and deactivations.
- Process, review, and validate individual and bulk access requests to ensure appropriate authorization and access controls.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot BPM workflows, work items, queues, payloads, and process statuses.
- Investigate aborted processes, system-locked requests, failed payloads, and stalled workflow activities; identify root causes and coordinate recovery.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and support Python-based automations that interact with the BPM platform.
- Support application integrations using REST APIs and similar interfaces, including JSON, authentication, logging, retry logic, exception handling, and batch processing.
- Manage ServiceNow incidents and tasks, Jira Run Support cards, defects, and escalations.
- Execute testing in lower environments before production patches and document test cases, results, and supporting evidence.
- Support monthly production patch windows, weekend maintenance activities, and early-morning operational checks.
- Monitor BOT activity, workflow performance, and automation processes to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Publish daily operational status updates and communicate effectively with business partners, IT teams, and support groups.
- Prioritize incidents, work independently to resolve issues, and escalate complex or time-sensitive problems appropriately.
- Follow established development practices, operational procedures, change controls, and production support standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Relevant education or equivalent professional experience in business systems, application administration, automation support, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience administering a BPM, workflow, case-management, or comparable enterprise platform.
- Experience managing user access, roles, profiles, security groups, and authorization controls.
- Strong production-support experience, including incident management and troubleshooting.
- Ability to analyze workflow failures, payload errors, system locks, queues, and process history.
- Intermediate-to-advanced Python scripting experience in a production environment.
- Experience integrating applications through REST APIs or similar interfaces.
- Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW), Jira, or comparable IT service management and work-management tools.
- Experience executing test cases, documenting evidence, and supporting software releases, patches, or maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with development practices and scripting concepts; this is a business-focused platform administration and production support role, not a dedicated IT developer position.
Skills:
- Knowledge of JavaScript, JSON, authentication methods, API integrations, logging, error handling, retry mechanisms, and batch processing.
- Strong understanding of workflow administration, access governance, role-based access control (RBAC), and authorization management.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, investigate failures, and support process recovery.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear operational updates and document technical findings.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and escalate incidents appropriately.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, BOT orchestration, schedulers, and automation platforms.
- Ability to support scheduled production maintenance, Sunday patch windows, early-morning monitoring, and occasional on-call requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with AWD/IIQ platforms.
- Experience with ServiceNow and Jira.
- Background in identity and access management (IAM), RBAC, or access governance.
- Experience working in a regulated, controlled, or audit-sensitive environment.
- Familiarity with Git, code reviews, CI/CD practices, SQL, and log-querying tools.
- ITIL, production support, or release-management certification.
