Mainframe Automation Engineer

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Engineer to support enterprise automation initiatives within a z/OS environment. The role will focus on automation platform administration, operational improvements, migration activities, scripting, monitoring, and event management across large-scale mainframe systems.

Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain mainframe automation solutions.
• Participate in automation platform migration and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and enhance automation scripts using REXX and related technologies.
• Implement automated monitoring, alerting, and operational processes.
• Support incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
• Assist with software installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Participate in change management, governance, and production support processes.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and automation procedures.

Required Skills:

• Experience with IBM System Automation (SA z/OS) and/or CA OPS/MVS.
• Strong REXX scripting experience.
• Knowledge of z/OS, JCL, and batch processing.
• Experience with monitoring, automation, and event management solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Automation migration projects.
• OPC/MVS or Tivoli Workload Scheduler.
• Mainframe operations and incident management.
• Change management and compliance experience.
