MA Therapist - Reg Intern | Community Action Team (2198)

Job Purpose:
- The MA Therapist - Reg Intern at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. The role is designed to support the mental health and well-being of clients by delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions and contributing to a supportive and healing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques to meet the specific needs of clients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Assist in crisis intervention and management, providing immediate support and guidance to clients in distress.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in the field of mental health therapy.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all clients, promoting their autonomy and empowerment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders to facilitate understanding and cooperation in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Must be a registered intern with the appropriate state board.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Proficient in documentation and maintaining accurate client records.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and environments in a behavioral health setting.
