Software Engineer - React Native

We are building anext-generation AI chat application — think of the ChatGPT mobile experience — and we need a talented React Native engineer to help us bring it to life on iOS and Android.

We are looking for aSoftware Engineer – React Native to join our team in Dhaka and play a key role in building real-world AI products, not just prototypes.

About the Role

You will be a core engineer responsible for building and scaling ourcross-platform AI chat mobile application from the ground up. You'll work on real-time conversational UI, streaming AI responses, smooth animations, offline support, and a polished user experience that rivals the best chat apps on the market.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll collaborate closely with backend engineers, UI/UX designers, and the product team to ship features that directly impact how users interact with AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ahigh-performance cross-platform AI chat application using React Native for Android and iOS.
• Build smooth, responsive chat UI components — message lists, streaming text rendering, markdown/rich content display, voice input, and animations.
• Implementreal-time streaming API responses (SSE/WebSocket) for live AI-generated content with optimistic UI updates.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and real-time services; handle edge cases like network interruptions, retries, and offline scenarios.
• Implementlocal data persistence for conversation history and offline support (e.g., SQLite, WatermelonDB, MMKV, or AsyncStorage).
• Manage application state using modern state management (Redux, Zustand, Context API, or similar).
• Optimize forperformance, responsiveness, and battery efficiency — smooth scrolling, fast cold starts, minimal re-renders.
• Integratepush notifications, deep linking, and analytics.
• Ensuredata security and privacy best practices for user conversation data (secure storage, encryption, token management).
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, QA engineers, and product teams in an agile environment.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across both Android and iOS platforms.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
• Write technical documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional software development experience, withat least 1.5+ years of hands-on React Native experience.
• Strong proficiency inJavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding ofReact Native, React Hooks, and modern React patterns.
• Experience buildingchat or real-time messaging UIs (or similar complex list/scroll-heavy interfaces).
• Experience integratingREST APIs and real-time data (SSE, WebSocket, or similar).
• Solid experience withReact Navigation and deep linking.
• Experience withstate management (Redux, Zustand, Context API, or similar).
• Understanding oflocal persistence and offline-first patterns.
• Proficiency withGit version control and collaborative workflows (branches, PRs, code reviews).
• Experience withnpm or Yarn for dependency management.
• Good understanding ofAndroid and iOS application lifecycle, permissions, and platform-specific configurations.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across both platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experiencepublishing applications to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store (including handling store reviews, signing, and provisioning).
• Knowledge ofnative Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) development for writing custom native modules or bridging.
• Experience withpush notifications, analytics, and mobile security best practices.
• Familiarity withCI/CD pipelines for mobile application deployment (e.g., Fastlane, EAS, GitHub Actions).
• Experience writingunit and integration tests (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox).
• Familiarity withAI/LLM concepts — chat completion APIs, streaming tokens, prompt handling, or similar.
• Experience withanimation libraries (React Native Reanimated, Gesture Handler, Lottie).
• Experience withFirebase services (Crashlytics, FCM, Analytics, Remote Config).
• Experience withExpo (EAS Build, OTA updates) or bare React Native CLI workflows.
