Key Responsibilities:

1. Individual Counseling:

   - Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students, addressing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, identity issues, trauma, and relationship concerns.

   - Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.

2. Group Counseling:

   - Facilitate support groups and therapy groups for students

   - Create a safe and supportive group environment that encourages open discussion and mutual support.

3. Crisis Intervention:

   - Offer crisis intervention services, including risk assessment and management of immediate psychological crises.

   - Collaborate with university crisis response teams to ensure timely and effective support for students in distress.

4. Outreach and Education:

   - Develop and deliver educational workshops, seminars, and training sessions on mental health topics for students, faculty, and staff.

   - Participate in campus-wide events and initiatives to promote mental health awareness and inclusivity.

5. Consultation and Collaboration:

   - Consult with faculty, staff, and administration on issues related to student mental health and well-being.

   - Collaborate with university departments to enhance support services and programming.

6. Documentation:

   - Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

7. Professional Development:

   - Stay current with best practices in university mental health counseling through ongoing professional development and training.

   - Participate in regular supervision and case consultation meetings.

Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.

- Licensed or licensed eligible in SC

- Minimum of 2 years experience in mental health counseling.

- Demonstrated knowledge of young adult mental health issues and cultural competency.

- Strong crisis intervention skills and experience.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with young adults.

- Experience working with college athletes.

- Bilingual or multilingual skills.

- Training in trauma-informed care and working with ADHD and Autism

Hours and Compensation:

- Part-time position - Flexible Hours and Days

- Available during business hours on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays
