Senior Java Engineer

We are seeking aSenior Java Engineer to design and deliver AI-enabled solutions using Java technologies. In this role, you will lead the implementation of business-critical, AI-powered features while contributing across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, from solution design through deployment and continuous improvement. This is a remote position based in Lithuania, working on cloud-native, microservices-based solutions for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy AI-enabled solutions using Java technologies
• Lead the implementation of business-critical features powered by AI
• Design and build microservices-based architectures and event-driven integrations
• Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including solution design, prompt engineering, model integration, evaluation, monitoring, deployment and continuous improvement
• Stay updated on the latest trends in Java, cloud and AI technologies

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in backend platform development
• Proficiency in Java and/or Scala
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms - AWS and/or Azure
• Experience designing and building microservices-based solutions
• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Competency in SQL and data modeling
• Qualifications in solution design, prompt engineering and model integration
• Familiarity with evaluation, monitoring, deployment and continuous improvement of AI solutions
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Experience with React or Angular/TypeScript
• Flexibility to use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS / AKS) and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI or Jenkins
• Familiarity with Generative AI fundamentals and Generative AI-assisted development
