
National Head Coach, Girls Lacrosse
Position Summary: TheHead Coach for the Girls’ National Lacrosse program is responsible for engaging, inspiring, and developing student-athletes through expert coaching, training, mentorship, and fostering a culture of integrity, passion, teamwork, and academic excellence both on and off the field.Â
This is a dynamic role that requires a passionate and committed leader with a focus on both the development of athletic skills and fostering personal growth in student-athletes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a dedicated advocate for the success of the Girls' National Lacrosse program.Â
Position Responsibilities:Â
- Cultivate a highly competitive and inclusive girls’ lacrosse program rooted in integrity, growth, and learning, with a focus on character development.Â
- Inspire and motivate student-athletes to reach their full potential in lacrosse while promoting academic success and personal development.Â
- Establish and execute strategic training techniques that enhance both technical skills and team-building efforts, creating a winning program.Â
- Build a challenging and competitive game schedule, with opportunities for nationally competitive matches and possible media exposure.Â
- Foster a community environment where students, parents, educators, and administrators work together for the holistic development of each athlete.Â
- Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and ensure awareness of NCAA eligibility requirements and college placement, in collaboration with College Counseling.Â
- Recruit, develop, and manage coaching staff and support personnel, ensuring the program maintains the highest standards of excellence.Â
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including season planning, scheduling, facility management, team registrations, and communication with stakeholders.Â
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to during all practices and games, maintaining a secure and healthy environment for all participants.Â
- Communicate effectively with parents, student-athletes, faculty, college and professional coaches, and other external stakeholders.Â
- Represent the lacrosse program in public relations activities, including media interviews and speaking engagements.Â
- Uphold the values, policies, and ethical standards of the institution, as well as those of lacrosse’s governing bodies.Â
- Perform other duties as assigned.Â
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Â
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Â
- Proven successful coaching experience, with a track record of managing and developing all aspects of a competitive sports program.Â
- Strong commitment to the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.Â
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.Â
- Experience with video technology for coaching, including editing, filming, and analysis.Â
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships within and outside the lacrosse program.Â
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment and manage complex schedules.Â
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Experience in the college planning and placement process.Â
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.Â
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for tournaments, games, and other lacrosse-related events.Â
Physical Demands and Work Environment:Â
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Â
- Must be able to handle a high-energy environment and maintain physical endurance during training and games.Â
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.Â
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and move across different campus facilities (e.g., fields, gym, turf).Â
