JOB SUMMARY 

The Dental Assistant provides exemplary patient care andassists dentists during examination and treatment of patients. This position also prepares clinical areas, instruments, and materials, provides imaging services,andutilizes four-handed dentistry. This position involves periodontal charting andinstructs patients in oral hygiene and have a firm grasp of dental procedures.The Dental Assistant will professionally communicate withthe Dental Assistant team, faculty, and residents, while providing exemplary patient care. 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSBILITIES

• Utilizes special solutions and sterilization bags; disposes of biohazard accordingly andmaintains infection control

• Prepares operatories and instrument trays for procedures for multiple disciplines

• Reviews schedule for each discipline to properly prepare for the day; minimal periodontal charting

• Cleans, oils, andsterilizes equipment

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Excellent communications skills

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology

• Ability tooperate dental equipment

• Ability to provide imaging services

• Ability to maintain infection control and sterilization of dental equipment

• Ability tomaintain patient confidentialityin accordance with HIPPA policy 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• High School Diploma or the equivalent

• Sixmonths ofexperience or training as a dental assistant 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) 

Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Starting at $18.00 per hour, with pay based on experience.
