Corporate M&A and Private Equity Associate (Junior Level)

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, is seeking a junior Corporate Associate (2–4 years) in the Corporate Practice, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and private equity practice of our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. Work with private equity sponsors, family offices, portfolio companies, founder-led businesses and other businesses across the country. This is a full-time position based in our Fort Lauderdale office.

This is an opportunity to build your M&A and private equity experience through substantive drafting, due diligence, and client contact on domestic and international transactions. Our practice includes buyouts, add-on acquisitions, growth equity investments, recapitalizations, and exits. Our team handles deals across industries including healthcare, technology, professional services, infrastructure, insurance, education, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and financial services, with support from GT’s global platform of transactional and regulatory lawyers and other specialists.

Your Role

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating acquisition agreements and ancillary agreements for complex M&A and private equity transactions.

• Leading critical transaction workstreams, with guidance from senior lawyers, such as due diligence (including matters involving representations and warranties insurance).

• Coordinating with tax, employee benefits, real estate, and other internal and external specialists.

• Working directly with clients on these workstreams.

• Assisting with closing preparations, including drafting closing deliverables and ensuring post-closing obligations are met.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Admission to the Florida Bar or willingness to become admitted promptly.

• 2–4 years of M&A, private equity, and general corporate experience at a national or regional law firm.

• Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-volume practice.

• Motivated candidate with strong interpersonal skills, a high degree of maturity, and a proven willingness to accept significant responsibility.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cross-border transactions.

• Familiarity with private equity deal structures.

• Comfort working directly with clients and managing multiple deals simultaneously.
