As aLead Tech Operations Consultant, you will play a key role in developing a strategic approach to enable a high performing organization through increased operational efficiency, risk management, financial stewardship, and team effectiveness. This role will initially focus on advancing Target Technology’s Software License Management (SLM) capability and the Software Asset Management (SAM) technology that enables it, with the opportunity to support broader Technology Business Operations priorities over time. Your core responsibilities will include the following:

• Drive operational intelligence by partnering with teams to analyze key tech metrics, identify trends, and surface actionable insights against goals
• Lead strategic operational initiatives aligned to portfolio priorities, driving measurable improvements in efficiency, planning, and execution.
• Influence strategy development by synthesizing data, insights, and cross-functional input to inform direction and tradeoffs.
• Lead the day-to-day development and operation of Target Technology’s Software License Management capability, establishing scalable processes, governance routines, measures, and cross-functional ways of working.
• Partner across Technology, Procurement, Finance, Law, Product, Architecture, and other enterprise teams to improve visibility into software entitlements, deployment, usage, contract requirements, ownership, and compliance exposure.
• Support the definition and operationalization of Software Asset Management capabilities, including business requirements, data readiness, technology evaluation, implementation, and ongoing operating routines.
• Identify systemic patterns, emerging risks, and forward-looking opportunities to proactively improve how the business operates
• Create clear, executive-ready narratives that enable leadership to quickly understand system health, risks, and required actions.
• Drive continuous improvement and process optimization, establishing and scaling best practices that improve team effectiveness and throughput.
• Influence across the organization, building strong relationships and driving alignment with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
• Advance supplier strategy and engagement practices, identifying opportunities to better leverage partners and drive innovation across the tech ecosystem.
• Develop and evolve measures of portfolio and capability health, connecting financial, operational, supplier, risk, and execution indicators to provide visibility into performance and opportunities.
• Translate financial and operational data into decision-ready insights, including scenario planning and recommendations to adjust tactics and meet goals.

About you:

• 7+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or portfolio management roles
• Proven ability to operate with high capacity and throughput, managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes
• Demonstrated experience driving process optimization, efficiency gains, and continuous improvement across teams or organizations
• Strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
• Experience connecting financial, operational, and execution data to inform decision-making
• Ability to identify patterns, surface risks, and drive proactive solutions, not just reactive reporting
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including VP leadership
• Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous, cross-functional problems from discovery through recommendation and operational implementation
• Excellent verbal, written, and facilitation skills with the ability to tell clear, compelling stories
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive outcomes in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, not just authority
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong ownership and accountability
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with M365 suite/Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Understanding of technology, applications, and platforms
• Experience with software licensing, Software License Management (SLM), Software Asset Management (SAM), technology supplier management, or related disciplines preferred.
• Retail or enterprise-scale environment experience preferred

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core rolewill need to beperformedboth onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
