
Systems Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
All interns will work directly alongside full-time engineers on real, engaging, and impactful projects, providing tangible value to Lunar Outpost products. This internship offers a truly end-to-end experience that promotes collaboration at every stage of autonomous robotic development.Â
 Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with requirements development, decomposition, and traceability to ensure customer requirements are satisfied
- Assist with planning and execution of validation and verification for customer requirements
- Learn the systems engineering lifecycle through supporting technical teams in the development, documentation, building, testing, and verification of rover subsystems, payloads, and ground systems
- Support test plan development and creation in support of V&V activities
- Support other systems engineering tasks, such as ConOps development, and interface definition between teams
- Support system and lower-level requirements management, including change control, audits, and coordination with other teams

Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Can effectively demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, while also excelling in collaboration and teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment
- Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills under pressure and in stressful situations
- Fueled by a passion for space exploration and the boundless possibilities beyond our world

- Familiarity with the Systems Engineering Process
- Understanding of fundamental test and evaluation processesÂ

Early-June (June 7, 2027) to late August (August 20, 2027). Start and end dates are flexible with the intern's school schedule. This is an in-person internship; Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Golden, Colorado.Â
