We are currently seeking aSr. Mechanical Engineer, HVBattery as part oftheproduct engineering organization in the plant. Our ideal candidateexhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor,determination, & leads by example.Candidates will be expected todemonstrate excellence in their respective fields, topossess the ability to leadthe team through technical & organizationalchallengesandtodeliver impactful results inan ambiguous environment.  

 You will: 

• Solve complex component/system level problems using standard problem-solvingtechniques  
• Data driven proactive problem solving, root cause analysis& issue avoidance due to process deviationsorcriticalpart quality issues  
• Develop(frompilotto implementation)complex processeswith particular focus onlaser welding & associated quality verification andfailure detection methodsinto production readiness whilemeeting associated ISO standards 
• Establish technical depth totriage andtroubleshoot allHV Batteryproduct& associatedtest spec.issues 
• Providedesign for manufacturability (DFM),design failuremode and effectanalysis(DFMEA) & serviceability feedbackinfuture product development processes  
• Responsible for setting upprocess flow & implementation of assembly drawings covering product specifications relevant to manufacturing  
• Responsible for creating aone-team culture to drive product design issues to closure in future/current products with deep collaboration with cross-functional teams 
• Provide guidance on build process development and improvement opportunities for high-volume production lines 
• Lead product change managementto addressknown product compatibility issues for high volume production or known product design issuesin production in close collaboration with cross-functional teams 

 Requirements: 

• BSinMechanical, Mechatronics,Electrical orAutomotiveEngineeringdisciplines with8+ years of automotive experience in design and release of vehiclesystems orattributes 
• Generally, requires 5+ years of related experience
• Experience inproduct problem solving using industry standard techniques 
• Excellent in data analysis using statisticsMinitaborJMP,Python,MATLAB 
• Previouslyparticipated in prototype builds or launch events 
• Technical depthinHV Battery Systems (Cylindrical Cells, Battery Modules, Battery Enclosure,&Battery Pack)& associated troubleshooting 
• Experiencein product development or improvementofHV Battery sub-systems 
• ExperienceinusingDFMEA, DVP&R,PFMEA,Control Plan,DFM, & RCA with cross-functional teams 
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills are required using Atlassian products 
• Requiresproficiency in Catia or 3DX, Stack up analysis (2D & 3D), SQL, & Vector tools 
• Travel isrequired between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA on as needed basis 

Preferred: 

• Master’s degree inMechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Automotivedisciplines with automotive experience in design & release of vehicle systems or attributes 
• Prior experience with Wire bonding, Laser welding & associated in process quality verification methodologies, and highly scalable 
• Experience with CAD IN 3DEXPERIENCE 
• Six Sigma Green / Black belt certification 
• Experience with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence 
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) or certification in engineering fundamentals 
• Collegiate FSAE/BAJA/Similar experience is preferred

Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.  Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
