About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and proactiveLTL Operator to support a US-based client’s refrigerated Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) distribution program for a major retail customer. This role focuses on shipment planning, truck consolidation, carrier assignment, delivery appointment management, and customer communication to ensure shipments meet their required arrival dates.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics operations, excellent written English, and the ability to manage a high volume of emails while making sound operational decisions. This is a hands-on role that requires critical thinking, ownership, and the ability to balance multiple scheduling and transportation constraints in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Tender Management and Load Planning: Process shipment tenders received through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and incorporate them into the daily transportation plan for assigned sites.
- Truck Consolidation: Consolidate pallets from multiple suppliers to maximize truck capacity, targeting 28 pallets per truck while minimizing the number of trucks required.
- Carrier Assignment and Scheduling: Assign loads based on carrier schedules, preferred pickup days, transit times, and delivery requirements. Prioritize long-haul shipments appropriately to help meet required arrival dates.
- Delivery Appointment Management: Review appointment changes and exceptions, coordinate necessary rescheduling, and ensure appointments align with required arrival dates (RADs).
- Customer Communication: Keep customer representatives informed of shipment risks, delays, and other important updates via email. Identify issues that could affect delivery commitments and communicate proposed solutions alongside escalations.
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with the client's US-based account representatives and capacity lead to coordinate daily transportation plans and resolve operational challenges.
What You Need
- 3+ years of experience in logistics operations, such as freight forwarding, third-party logistics (3PL), freight brokerage, or trucking operations.
- Excellent written English communication skills, preferably at a C1 level, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with US-based enterprise customers.
- Experience managing high email volumes, prioritizing requests, tracking ongoing conversations, and ensuring timely follow-through.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess shipment risks, make operational decisions, and recommend solutions independently.
- Experience with load planning, shipment scheduling, truck consolidation, or coordinating multiple transportation requirements.
- Willingness to work a night shift aligned with US business hours.
Technical Requirements
- Fiber internet (PLDT Fiber, Converge, Globe Fiber, etc.) - recommended speed of 100/50 Mbps
- Backup internet (mobile hotspot or secondary ISP) capable of at least 20 Mbps
- Quiet, conducive home workspace
- OPTIONAL: Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
- OPTIONAL: Power backup (UPS) if the location experiences frequent outages
