What to Expect

Tesla is focused on building a world of abundance and we are seeking a Logistics Procurement Program Manager to manage execution of logistics procurement programs. You will coordinate between the operations stakeholders requesting logistics services and logistics supply chain managers responsible for sourcing those services. You will ensure that requirements, statements of work, and service-level agreements are defined, aligned, and progressing, and that major programs, including capital expenditure programs, advance from request through start of service on an agreed timeline. You will manage multiple logistics projects concurrently, across the modes each program requires. Category strategy and commercial negotiation remain with the supply managers. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can keep a portfolio of programs on schedule and present status, risks, and decisions to a broad group of stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Program Portfolio Ownership & Governance: Own a cross-category portfolio of logistics programs by establishing scope, timelines, accountable owners, and success criteria for each; maintain a program operating cadence including milestone reviews, a risk log, and status reporting suitable for leadership; and ensure a repeatable coordination process that does not depend on a single individual
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Escalation: Serve as the coordination point between operations stakeholders requesting logistics services and supply chain managers procuring them, confirming alignment on requirements, timelines, and decisions, and escalating incomplete, delayed, or competing requests before they affect program milestones
  • Requirements, SOW & SLA Readiness: Translate operating requirements into sourcing-ready scope — including volumes, sites, timing, constraints, and acceptance criteria — and track development of statements of work and service-level agreements to identify gaps before a bid is issued or a contract is executed
  • Capital Expenditure & Multi-Project Execution: Manage milestone tracking for high-visibility and capex logistics programs (factory and line installations, equipment and tooling moves, project deployments, and build-outs where logistics is on the critical path), running several projects in parallel across freight, warehousing, parcel, brokerage, project cargo, and specialized moves while maintaining an integrated schedule and adjusting plans when programs compete for the same capacity
  • Procurement Interface & Service Transition: Partner with logistics supply chain managers on sourcing timelines, data requests, and decision gates to ensure each event is supported by a complete request and confirmed stakeholder participation; following award, verify that SOWs are executed, service levels are understood, site briefings are complete, and the service is operational before treating the program as closed
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work with operations teams, construction and program teams, Material Planning, Service Parts, Finance, Legal, Trade & Customs, and Logistics Operations; represent program status in launch, peak-readiness, and capital reviews; and resolve issues that stand between a stakeholder request and an executed service agreement
  • Team Contribution: Coach analysts and cross-functional partners on how to define a logistics request, the content required in a statement of work, and how to interpret a program timeline; serve as the day-to-day program coordinator and first escalation point when a program is off schedule

What You’ll Bring

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience with 5–8 years coordinating logistics, supply chain, or procurement programs between operations stakeholders and procurement — preferably within a complex manufacturing environment — including demonstrated ability to manage several concurrent programs with at least one large-scale or capital program, or equivalent experience
  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to influence operations leaders and Global Supply Managers without direct authority, maintain schedule discipline when inputs are delayed, and present status and recommendations to Director-level stakeholders
  • Technical Skills: Ability to convert an operations request into a defined requirement covering sites, volumes, timing, constraints, and service levels; working knowledge of logistics service procurement including RFIs/RFPs, statements of work, SLAs, and award transition; ability to maintain a milestone plan, RACI, and risk log across multiple programs including capital projects; experience across plant logistics and project or site logistics (expertise in every transportation mode is not required); advanced Excel with Power BI or equivalent analytics tool experience a plus
  • Soft Skills & Process Knowledge: Strong written communication, facilitation, and follow-through with the ability to align requesting stakeholders and supply managers while respecting the accountability of each team; solid command of purchasing processes including SOPs, RFIs/RFPs, statements of work, SLAs, purchase orders, and contract governance
  • Other Requirements: Fluent in English; willingness to travel ~20–30% to Tesla sites and supplier reviews; based in Fremont, CA; passion for Tesla's mission
