- Responsible for material backlogs including the prioritization strategy to manage the material backlogs as well as to resolve aging backlog issues and establish corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Ownership of the strategic plan for prioritizing and assigning work in accordance with functional area needs
- Definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for area assigned including the ability to document and report performance based on KPIs.
- Understanding of material priority and communicating prioritization plan to team
- Oversight of inventory audits (Inventory Accuracy Level of 97.5%)
- Accountable to define and implement corrective actions in response to inventory accuracy audits
- Responsible for plan to review & disposition excess material
- Significant professional interactions with various customers including:
- EB & SUPSHIP Program Offices, NAVSEA and NAVSUP, Operations, Planning Departments, Purchasing, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off-Site Departments
- Responsible for writing, reviewing and dispositioning engineering documents
- Ownership of business process and ability to draft and/or modify policies and procedures as needed to adapt to current business practices
- Champion continuous improvement projects/initiatives and support meeting company goals and metrics
- Ownership of business process that supports material availability
