Load and Performance Lead Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (3 days onsite)

Salary Range: 70 - 75 INC/hr

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled Load and Performance Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team in a hybrid work mode. This role requires a professional with extensive experience in performance testing and a strong technical background. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the reliable and secure delivery of complex systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Approximately 15 years of hands-on experience as a developer and/or performance architect
• Specialized Python programming skills
• Experience with Load Runner or JMeter for designing and executing load and performance tests
• Proficient in programming languages such as C, Java, SQL, and scripting
• Prior work experience at a client or in the client's industry
• Understanding of web protocols including HTTP and Citrix
• Experience with load management applications like LoanIQ (Finastra)
• Proficiency in using VUGen 9.5 or greater for advanced test script development
• Ability to use monitoring/profiling tools (Dynatrace, CA Wily Introscope, AWR reports, etc.)
• Knowledge of Splunk for load test analysis
• Understanding of distributed load test environments and application architecture
• Knowledge of performance bottlenecks and end-to-end web performance measures
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in load and performance test environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide performance testing capabilities for complex applications
• Work with stakeholders to design test cases and create performance test scripts
• Execute performance scenarios and write technical performance test plans
• Lead data creation activities for required load tests
• Collaborate with development, architecture, infrastructure, and production support teams
• Report findings and participate in project/team meetings
