What You Will Do:
Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern with interest in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to support next-generation propulsion programs.  The candidate will be responsible for the development of system models for one or more programs.  Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to P&W EDSI standard work.  This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for advanced military and commercial propulsion programs.  Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.
- Develop Systems Engineering Models in order to perform systems engineering tasks including:
- Deriving and analyzing requirements, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, requirements analysis, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning, and trade studies
- Interface with engineering leads, team members, and other discipline teams and provide task progress updates
- Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard work
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior internship or co-op experience in the aerospace and defense industry
Experience in systems engineering roles, or familiarity with systems engineering concepts - Experience using a SysML or UML tool, such as IBM Rhapsody ®, Cameo/Magic Draw ®, or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
