About the Role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilledSenior Lead Engineer to design and delivermission-critical avionics software for commercial and military aircraft. In this role, you will work on theInformation Management System (IMS)—a sophisticated platform responsible for transferring, managing, and presenting aircraft maintenance and configuration data between ground systems and cockpit environments.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with deep expertise inC++, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines, who thrives in complex, high-reliability environments and is passionate about building software that directly impacts aviation safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performanceC++ applications onLinux platforms

• Solve complex system challenges using strongdata structures, algorithms, and OOD principles

• Develop and optimizemulti-threaded and concurrent software components

• Build, enhance, and maintainCI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment

• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams in anAgile/Scrum environment

• UseGit and modern branching strategies for effective source code management

• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization

• Supporttest automation and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6–8 years of overall software development experience

• 5+ years of strong, hands-onC++ development experience

• Proven expertise withLinux OS and command-line tools

• Solid understanding ofdata structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design

• Experience buildingmulti-threaded and concurrent systems

• 4+ years of experience working withCI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy automation)

• Hands-on experience withGit or similar version control systems

Good to Have

• Experience withRobot Framework for test automation

• Knowledge ofPython or other scripting languages

• Exposure toAgile development methodologies

• Understanding ofnetworking protocols

• Experience withsafety-critical, embedded, or aerospace systems
