Description

Job Overview: As a Litigation Associate, you will be an integral member of our litigation team, directly supporting complex litigation matters. This role is designed for a recent law school graduate who is eager to learn and grow. You will work closely with senior attorneys and partners, gaining hands-on experience in providing strategic legal advice, representing clients in court, and ensuring successful outcomes in various types of disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing all phases of litigation, including case assessment, strategy development, discovery, trial preparation, and trial execution.
  • Support senior counsel in representing clients in state and federal courts, administrative hearings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare witnesses for testimony and gain hands-on experience assisting with—and eventually taking and defending—depositions.
  • Assist the legal team in settlement negotiations and mediations to resolve disputes favorably for clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to understand objectives and help execute effective legal strategies.
  • Begin participating in business development activities, including client meetings, presentations, and networking events.
  • Stay current with developments in the law and aggressively build a deep understanding of procedural and substantive aspects of litigation.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida state bar and in good standing (or pending admission/sitting for the upcoming bar exam).
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills (Law Review, Moot Court, or Mock Trial experience is highly regarded).
  • Strong foundation in oral advocacy and a proactive eagerness to learn negotiation strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as a highly collaborative part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in commercial litigation, class actions, and multi-district litigation through relevant coursework, clinics, or clerkships.
  • Familiarity with discovery processes, including modern eDiscovery platforms.
  • A natural enthusiasm for business development and client relationship management.
