Linen Service Specialist

At-a-Glance:
Join a leading healthcare service provider as a Linen Service Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining linen services within a dynamic hospital environment.

Position Type:

• Contract
• Onsite
• Shift varies, must be available for 1st or 2nd shift
• Days off and start times are subject to change based upon the business needs
• Reliable transportation required, availability needed for any days/times

Required:

• Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand instructions in English
• Ability to count quickly and accurately
• Basic computer skills
• Dependability

Preferred:

• Hospital or healthcare experience

Responsibilities:

• Restock all linen carts on assigned routes within the assigned time frame using approved linen distribution equipment
• Accurately count linen items and enter data into linen management software
• Assess areas of assignment and suggest improvements
• Remove foreign items and linen in unacceptable condition from carts
• Check and change reject linen bags, ensuring adequate supply of soiled linen bag boxes in each cart
• Straighten remaining linen in preparation for restocking
• Patrol work area, picking up strings and dropped linen, placing it in proper containers
• Deliver empty linen carts to designated areas
• Report linen shortages or issues to supervisor as requested or pointed out by clinical staff or hospital management
• Collect and handle soiled linen bags, delivering them to designated areas in a timely and professional manner
• Maneuver large bins and/or linen carts safely and professionally
• Adjust to staff shortages and cover other assigned areas and/or campuses while maintaining high standards
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth department operation
