Linen Service Specialist

Join a healthcare service provider as a Linen Service Specialist.

Required:

• Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand instructions given in English
• Ability to count quickly and accurately
• Basic computer skills
• Dependability

Preferred:

• Hospital or healthcare experience.

Responsibilities:

• Restock all linen carts on assigned route within the assigned time frame, using approved linen distribution equipment, accurately counting linen items, and entering all data into linen management software as required.
• Assess areas of assignment and make suggestions for improvement.
• Remove all foreign items and linen from carts that are in unacceptable condition, such as torn, unfolded, or soiled.
• Check for and change reject linen bags and ensure an adequate supply of soiled linen bag boxes are always available in each linen cart.
• Straighten remaining linen in preparation for restocking.
• Patrol work area, pick up strings and dropped linen, placing it in proper containers.
• Deliver empty linen carts to designated areas.
• Report to supervisor any linen shortage and/or issues as requested or pointed by clinical staff or hospital management.
• Collect and handle soiled linen bags and deliver them to designated areas in a timely and professional manner when assigned.
• Maneuver large bins and/or linen carts in a safe and professional manner.
• Adjust to staff shortages and cover other assigned areas and/or campuses while maintaining high standards set by department team members and Florida Hospital.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
