Our client, a respected law firm, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Legal Support Assistant to join their team. This position provides critical administrative and legal support to attorneys across a variety of practice areas, with a primary focus on litigation support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities, working with legal documentation, supporting clients and attorneys, and contributing to a collaborative office environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the firm's legal and administrative operations run smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
What You'll Be Doing
Litigation Support
- Prepare, file, serve, and organize pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Maintain litigation files and retrieve court docket information.
- Track court deadlines, hearing dates, and case milestones.
- Assemble exhibits, hearing materials, and trial notebooks.
- Assist attorneys with litigation-related document preparation and organization.
- Draft, revise, proofread, format, and finalize legal correspondence and documents.
- Prepare estate planning, business, transactional, and administrative documentation based on attorney instructions.
- Manage attorney calendars, appointments, hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines.
- Open, maintain, organize, and close physical and electronic client files.
- Assist with client intake, conflict checks, engagement materials, scheduling, and follow-up communications.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, government agencies, opposing counsel, title companies, medical providers, financial institutions, and other external contacts.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, deliveries, scanning, copying, printing, and document production.
- Maintain accurate records and information within firm systems.
- Monitor assigned tasks and deadlines while keeping attorneys informed of time-sensitive matters.
- Provide backup support for reception, phones, scheduling, and general office operations.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Full-time, direct-hire position
- Monday through Friday
- 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- 45-minute unpaid meal break

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent proofreading, grammar, spelling, and formatting skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to handle multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Previous law office, legal support, administrative assistant, or professional office experience
- Related education
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with document management, electronic filing, or legal technology systems
