Our client, a publicly tradedmultinational company renowned for its leadership within its industry, is seeking aLegal Counsel to join its sizeable legal team.

The successful candidate will work alongsidehighly seasoned professionalsand play a key role in the execution ofstrategic transactions across Canada and internationally. This opportunity offers exposure tothe full lifecycle of mergers and acquisitions transactions while providing the chance to develop a deep understanding of the commercial drivers that support the organization's growth.

YOUR ROLE:

• Participate in all phases of transactions, including related financing arrangements, across multiple jurisdictions;

• Collaborate in the development of transaction strategies and participate in discussions with the company's senior leadership team;

• Support corporate development and treasury teams in the execution of growth initiatives and financing projects;

• Oversee and coordinate legal due diligence exercises with internal stakeholders and external advisors;

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and complex transaction documents;

• Assist with the implementation of transactions and support business teams during post-acquisition integration phases;

• Manage mandates entrusted to external counsel and oversee various strategic legal matters;

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a dynamic corporate environment.

   

   

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Member in good standing of a Canadian provincial bar;

• Between two and five years of relevant mergers and acquisitions experience acquired with a leading law firm or a large acquisition-driven organization;

• Strong knowledge of legal concepts relating to corporate and commercial transactions;

• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and perform effectively under tight deadlines;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior-level stakeholders both internally and externally, in French and English;

• Strong business judgment, sound risk assessment abilities, a pragmatic approach, strong initiative, professional rigor, and impeccable judgment.
