What you will be doing:
The Leadership Coordinatordevelops, coordinates, and delivers publicsafetytraining related to leadership development,frontline supervision,andorganizationalmanagement at DPSST and locations throughout thestateofOregon.While assessing the availability of resources and determiningcosteffectiveness relating toassignedtraining programs and projects.
This role willguide,motivate, and counsel advisorygroups,contract,part time, agencyloansandstudents for optimumperformance,ensuringpolicy compliance with standardsandguidelines.
You willprovide oral and written evaluation reportson statusof programs and projects, to include recommendations for curriculum development.As well asfacilitateworkgroups and activelyparticipate in researching, developing/updating,implementing, and evaluating training programs for publicsafetyprofessionals related to leadership,supervisionand management.To ensureprograms and projects are meeting the needsof constituents.
This positionalsoprovidessubjectmatter expert instruction in leadership, supervision and management courses to publicsafetyprofessionalsofall levelsofexperience.

The Department of Public Safety Standards andTraining(DPSST) oversees the development of professionalstandardsand the deliveryofquality trainingforlawenforcementofficers, corrections officers,parole and probation officers, firefighters,telecommunicators, andemergencymedical dispatchers. Minimum Qualifications:
Six (6) years ofprofessionallevelexperiencerelated tothe leadership development,frontline supervision andorganizational management and/or based on ORS 181.610 through 181.690.Typically,this experienceis intheareaof publicsafety (law enforcementofficers,adult and youth corrections officers,parole and probationofficers,fireserviceprofessionals, telecommunicators, andemergencymedical dispatchers).Experiencemust have included deliveringstructuredtrainingsessions oron-the-job training.
College-levelcoursework related to the subject matter of instruction maysubstitute onthe basisof45-quarter units peryearofexperienceup to a maximumofthreeyears.

- Abilityto revise andenhance existingleadership curriculumwhile staying informed on emergingtrends and best practices in the field.
- Theability to travelstatewideto deliver quality instruction,resources and provide accessible resourcesforleadershipcurriculumto publicsafety agencies statewide.
- Working experience in public safety such as Police, Fire, Parole and Probation, Corrections.
- Demonstratedexpertisecreating andsustaining strong andproductiveworking relationships withconstituents andstaff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may begivento candidateswhohaveworkingexperience incriminaljustice publicsafetyleadership roles.
