Hiring Salary Range: $89,000 - $133,500

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level


PURPOSE:The Leadership and Professional Development Specialist  designs, develops, facilitates and evaluates leadership and professional development programs for Dairyland Power Cooperative employees and leaders. This individual contributor role combines corporate training with instructional design to help participants build skills they can apply in their work. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate leadership and professional development courses for employees and leaders in in-person, virtual and blended settings. 
  • Design and develop instructor-led, virtual and self-paced leadership and professional development learning materials, including facilitator guides, participant materials, presentations, activities, job aids and assessments. 
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methods to create engaging, practical learning experiences that support workplace application. 
  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to identify leadership and professional development needs, establish learning objectives and develop appropriate learning solutions. 
  • Deliver established leadership and professional development programs in accordance with program requirements while adapting examples and facilitation techniques to the audience. 
  • Lead discussions, practice activities, and skill-building exercises; provide constructive feedback that supports learning and workplace application. 
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments and other appropriate measures; use findings to improve programs. 
  • Maintain and update course content to reflect organizational priorities, participant needs and current practices. 
  • Stay current on leadership development, professional development, facilitation, instructional design and adult learning practices. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in learning and development, instructional design, education, human resources, organizational development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • At least five (5) years of experience facilitating leadership, professional development, or related training in a corporate or organizational setting, with demonstrated success engaging adult learners and supporting skill application. 
  • At least two (2) years of experience designing or developing instructor-led, virtual, or blended learning. This experience may overlap with the facilitation experience above. 
  • Experience partnering with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop training solutions. 
  • Familiarity with Crucial Learning courses and their application to workplace leadership and communication, preferred
  • Current certification from Blanchard to facilitateSLII® (Situational Leadership® II), preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong corporate facilitation and presentation skills, including the ability to guide discussion, manage group dynamics and adapt to different audiences. 
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methods and approaches to evaluating training effectiveness. 
  • Ability to translate leadership and professional development needs into clear learning objectives and practical learning experiences. 
  • Skill in developing accurate, professional training materials and using presentation, authoring, and collaboration tools. 
  • Ability to build productive relationships with leaders, employees, HR partners and subject matter experts. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, project management, and follow-through skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple development and delivery priorities independently while meeting deadlines.
