What to Expect
The Robotics Data Collection Training Lead owns end-to-end training excellence for Optimus data collection operations at their site. This lead-capacity role sets the bar for how operators are onboarded, certified, and continuously developed - ensuring teams collect high-quality data that trains and improves Tesla’s robotics systems. You’ll lead by example on the floor, coach peers and new trainers, drive consistency across shifts, and partner with engineers, project managers, supervisors, and field teams so training stays tightly aligned with operational and project goals.ÂShift available:
10:00AM - 6:30PM Monday - Friday
What You’ll Do
- Develop training strategy and deliver advanced training on robotics hardware, sensors, software tools, data quality standards, and safety protocols—and calibrate other trainers to the same barÂ
- Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive training documentation (manuals, SOPs, quick-reference guides) for designated sites. Â
- Lead new-hire onboarding and ongoing skill development for data collection staff; act as the primary training point of contact for the site and mentor Training Coordinators / peer trainers as neededÂ
- Provide structured coaching and feedback to operators and trainers; support batch / group interview panels and start-class readiness as a training subject-matter leadÂ
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, certifications, and competency tracking; surface readiness risks early to leadershipÂ
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in training coordination, technical instruction, data collection operations, or a related field; demonstrated lead or informal leadership experience preferredÂ
- Strong understanding of robotics systems, sensors, data collection methodologies, hardware handling, and associated software/toolsÂ
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to teach complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences (new hires, operators, engineers)Â
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a track record of keeping training delivery and documentation on track under tight timelinesÂ
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving process or performance issuesÂ
- Collaborative, team-first attitude with ownership mentality and a passion for advancing autonomous robotics through world-class data quality and training
