Lead Java Software Engineer

EPAM's Financial Services Practice is seeking aLead Java Software Engineer to become part of our elite engineering team. Our client base includes some of the globe's largest and most forward-thinking banks, investment banks, and wealth management firms.

Please note that working from the client's office is required 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Build robust Java-based applications and solutions for financial services clients
• Create REST APIs to support business requirements
• Utilize reactive programming principles to build responsive systems
• Design and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Incorporate NoSQL databases into application architecture
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Java software development, with a focus on Java 8 & 9
• Experience with NoSQL databases, ideally with MongoDB
• Expertise in REST API implementation, ideally with JAX-RS
• Experience with reactive programming, ideally with RxJava
• Background in implementing unit tests
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Experience developing applications in fintech or established financial institutions
• Familiarity with microservice architectures
• Experience developing systems that can scale to large amounts of data
• Experience working in Agile Scrum
• Experience working on a globally distributed team
