Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in software testing and test automation. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Playwright, along with extensive experience in TypeScript and JavaScript.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks and automated test suites for UI and end-to-end testing. The role requires a strong understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and modern Agile development practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
  • Build and enhance scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.
  • Develop automation solutions using TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Perform UI, functional, regression, and end-to-end automation testing.
  • Analyze application requirements and develop effective test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies.
  • Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and identify application defects.
  • Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure overall product quality.
  • Maintain automation code using Git-based version control systems.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, automation coverage, and overall QA practices.
  • Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5–8 years of overall experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with the Playwright automation framework.
  • Extensive programming/scripting experience with TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience in UI and end-to-end test automation.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, test methodologies, and test design techniques.
  • Experience working with Git-based version control systems.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with API testing tools and automation frameworks.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of cloud-based testing platforms.
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
  • Knowledge or experience with performance testing tools would be an added advantag
