About The Job:
- We are looking for an experienced Lead Shopify Consultant with 7+ years of experience in e-commerce consulting, Shopify/Shopify Plus implementation, solution design, and technical leadership.
- The candidate will be responsible for leading Shopify projects, translating business requirements into scalable e-commerce solutions, guiding development teams, and ensuring successful implementation and integration of Shopify platforms with enterprise applications.
- The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Shopify Plus, Shopify architecture, Liquid, APIs, integrations, custom app development, e-commerce platforms, and third-party systems, along with excellent stakeholder-management and leadership skills.
- Lead Shopify/Shopify Plus implementation and enhancement projects from requirements through deployment and post-production support.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand e-commerce requirements and translate them into scalable Shopify solutions.
- Design and review Shopify solution architecture, technical specifications, integrations, and implementation approaches.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Shopify developers and implementation teams.
- Configure and customize Shopify stores, themes, checkout experiences, products, collections, pricing, promotions, and customer journeys.
- Develop and review custom Shopify solutions using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
- Design and implement integrations between Shopify and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, payment gateways, marketplaces, and third-party applications.
- Work with Shopify APIs, GraphQL, REST APIs, webhooks, and custom/private apps.
- Lead Shopify Plus implementations and leverage enterprise capabilities such as Shopify Functions, Flow, Markets, and checkout extensibility.
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to enhance customer experience, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Perform technical reviews, code reviews, solution validation, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Coordinate with offshore/onshore teams, product owners, business users, QA, DevOps, and other technical teams.
- Participate in project estimation, planning, risk identification, and delivery tracking.
- Ensure adherence to development standards, security practices, and enterprise architecture guidelines.
- Mentor junior and senior developers and provide technical direction to the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant Azure certifications preferred: Shopify Partner / Shopify Academy certifications or credentials – preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in e-commerce technology, Shopify development/consulting, or related digital commerce platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify and Shopify Plus.
- Excellent understanding of Shopify architecture and ecosystem.
- Strong experience with Shopify Liquid and theme customization.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience developing and integrating Shopify Apps, Webhooks, and custom solutions.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, REST APIs, and web technologies.
- Experience with third-party integrations including ERP, CRM, payment gateways, shipping, tax, PIM, OMS, and marketplace platforms.
- Experience with Shopify Plus checkout extensibility and enterprise Shopify capabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of Shopify Functions, Shopify Flow, Shopify Markets, and Hydrogen is an advantage.
- Understanding of e-commerce concepts such as product catalogue, pricing, promotions, inventory, orders, customers, payments, fulfilment, returns, and taxation.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, cloud environments, and modern development practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Act as the technical lead and Shopify subject matter expert for client engagements.
- Lead solution discussions, technical workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and architecture reviews.
- Provide technical estimates and contribute to project planning and delivery strategy.
- Review proposed solutions and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Mentor team members and establish development best practices.
- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, architects, project managers, and technical teams.
- Take ownership of critical technical issues and drive them to resolution.
