- Partner with store leaders to deliver proactive HR support aligned to business goals.
- Enhance the teammate experience across multiple retail locations.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and workforce planning.
- Champion company culture and values by fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence for talent development, compensation, benefits, and DEI programs.
- Analyze HR data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws and HR best practices.
- Lead change management initiatives to increase engagement and retention.
- Oversee headcount management and partner with recruitment teams to ensure timely staffing.
- Experience in multi-unit, high-volume retail environments.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment law.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% for store visits, meetings, and events.
- Tactical, hands-on HR approach.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
- Experience with unions and labor relations.
- Supports over 900 teammates across 100+ locations in Southern California.
- Individual contributor role partnering with 13 Area Managers.
- Remote work with required regional travel.
- Must live within the geographic region supported.
- Main office located in West Covina, CA.
