Job Summary:
The Lead Housing Monitor answers the phone, responds to questions and direct calls as needed; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent client and department information; provides instructions/directions to volunteers, visitors, vendors, and other monitors as needed; assists new and current clients with drug screens, breath analyzer, and after-hours intake; addresses clients' relationships; answers telephone calls and questions regarding the shelters and provides related information; ensures the housing facility is maintained in a neat and proper order; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift, ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules. Trains and instructs monitor staff in the appropriate methods for performing work; inspects work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Supervises and assists in addressing the concerns and progress of the clients.

- Assist in defusing any concerns or issues and report information to the Program Director
- Complete write-ups and/or incident reports when needed.
- Exits Clients; make sure the exit form is completed accurately with complete address and phone numbers
- Prepare and update daily client housekeeping assignment log for clients to know respective chores to complete; distribute room keys as needed and maintain check in/check out log
- Maintains log for laundry room usage
- Collect and distribute client mail.
- Monitors the activities of the residents via security cameras ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.
- Conduct periodic Checks of clients' rooms, area and/or lockers daily noting condition of rooms/lockers on a daily check list and files report; ensures all rooms/lockers are in proper order upon client exit and before arrival of residents.
- Assists in monitoring clients during all mealtimes.
- Makes periodic checks of entire facility
- Answers telephone and respond to questions regarding the shelter/housing operations.
- Document daily activities of clients and any other after-hour activities including preparing incident reports for submission to management and appropriate authorities including outside agencies.
- Completes client intake as needed: completes forms, performs drug testing and/or breathalyzer of clients as needed; check "no readmission" client list
- Secure overnight clients and communicate the information to staff and directors as needed
- Contact respective departments regarding facility concerns
- Process the transaction of Snap Benefits (Payment/Refund)
- Assist in training interns on the duties for the EFS Program
- Communicate concerns and issues with other staff members
- Direct volunteers, vendors and visitors to respective areas in the building
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and some college, preferably in social work or related field
and
Three or more years of experience performing monitoring, security. Administrative work in a social service environment, experience in a culturally diverse environment a plus
Or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
