About the Opportunity:Â
Chelsea Piers Field House is seeking skilledGymnastics and Ninja/Parkour Instructors to join our Field House team in Chelsea. Instructors will primarily work recreational classes, school break camps, birthday parties, and special events.This is a part-time hourly position, with the possibility of moving to full-time status.Â
Primary Responsibilities:Â
Teach gymnastics and/or ninja/parkour classes for children ages 1–16, focusing on skill development and progressionÂ
Create and follow lesson plans aligned with program curriculum for a variety of ages and abilitiesÂ
Engage students with energy and enthusiasm to create a fun, positive learning environmentÂ
Ensure a safe environment by enforcing rules and properly using equipmentÂ
Come prepared by arriving on time, knowing students’ names, and understanding their progressionsÂ
Adapt instruction to meet different skill levels and learning stylesÂ
Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and parentsÂ
Set up, maintain, and break down equipmentÂ
Work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive, professional attitudeÂ
Take attendance and follow all company policies and proceduresÂ
Complete USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and SafeSport Certification within the first month of employmentÂ

Qualifications
About You:Â
You are dependable, punctual, and passionate about gymnastics or Ninja and working with children. You have:Â
3–5+ years of gymnastics coaching experience, primarily in recreational programmingÂ
Strong understanding of progressions from preschool through advanced recreational levelsÂ
Experience running structured classes with clear lesson plans and measurable skill developmentÂ
Confident spotting across all four events (Bars, Beam, Floor, Vault) within a recreational settingÂ
Proven ability to manage multiple stations and maintain safe coach-to-athlete ratiosÂ
Demonstrated classroom management skills in high-energy environmentsÂ
Experience creating a fun, positive atmosphere while maintaining discipline and structureÂ
Strong parent communication skills and professionalismÂ
Ability to mentor newer coaches and model best practices on the floorÂ
CPR/AED & First Aid certifiedÂ
USAG membership preferred (or willingness to obtain)Â
Availability for evenings and weekendsÂ
