Lead Direct Support Professional II/Assistant Administrator - Residential Crisis Program

Location Options: Shingle Springs

$29.58 - $32.64/hour

Position Summary

As a Lead Direct Service Professional (DSP) II, you’ll be an active part of our residential crisis programs supporting. Your responsibilities include:

Program & Administrative Support

  • Serve as Acting Administrator in the Administrator’s absence.
  • Support the Administrator with the day-to-day operation of the Community Crisis Home and ensure the program is implemented as designed.
  • Assist with new client assessments and participate in individual assessments, IPP/ISP meetings, and other planning meetings as requested.
  • Prepare documentation and materials for weekly meetings, monthly meetings, IBSTs, and other program meetings.
  • Provide input regarding individuals’ progress, needs, skills, and goals, including information for ISP reports and behavior plans.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behavior plans and follow established activity schedules.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of staff, as applicable, and ensure residents are appropriately supervised at all times.

Individual Care, Support & Rights

  • Ensure individuals receive the appropriate level of care, supervision, and support based on their individual needs and plans.
  • Follow each individual’s IPP and support their rights, choices, independence, and informed decision-making.
  • Communicate respectfully with individuals and provide information regarding schedules, expectations, activities, finances, upcoming events, and other matters affecting their daily lives.
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including transfers, mobility, bathing, toileting, transportation, and community activities.
  • Safely utilize mobility, adaptive, and medical equipment as directed.
  • Attend medical appointments as needed and accurately communicate relevant information and outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals and employees.

Health, Medication & Emergency Response

  • Assist with prescribed medications and medical treatments as authorized and directed, including oral medications, nebulizers, blood pressure monitoring, glucose monitoring, and other medical equipment.
  • Accurately complete Medication Assistance Records (MARs) and required medical documentation.
  • Follow health, emergency, fire safety, and universal precaution procedures.
  • Administer CPR and/or First Aid when needed.
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and other urgent situations, including contacting 911, medical providers, supervisors, or other appropriate parties.

Crisis & Behavioral Support

  • Provide intervention and support during crisis situations using CPI and Ukeru principles and other approved interventions.
  • Follow individual behavior plans and established crisis protocols.
  • Identify, document, and report special incidents, behavioral concerns, injuries, threats, and other significant events in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report suspected abuse, including fulfilling all mandated reporting requirements to the appropriate licensing agencies.
  • Support a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals and staff.

Compliance, Documentation & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, company policies, and program standards.
  • Maintain all required qualifications, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely, including daily case notes, special incident reports, payroll timesheets, medical and financial logs, and other program records.
  • Report safety concerns, needed repairs, potential liabilities, threats, injuries, illnesses, and other workplace or program concerns promptly.
  • Follow the agency’s internal grievance procedures and other established policies.

Staff Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, IPP meetings, and other meetings requested by supervisors, individuals, service coordinators, or stakeholders.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication through email, text, phone, written communication, and in-person interactions.
  • Communicate pertinent information to individuals, staff, supervisors, and stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback and use feedback to improve performance.
  • Ask for assistance when needed and demonstrate sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Home & Program Maintenance

  • Follow assigned responsibilities related to maintaining a clean, safe, and functional home environment, including laundry, changing bed linens, cleaning, yard maintenance, and other household tasks.
  • Monitor and request necessary supplies and equipment, including adaptive equipment, cleaning supplies, First Aid supplies, and other program needs.
  • Follow the Community Crisis Home activity schedule and ensure the home’s daily operations support the needs of the individuals served.

Professional Conduct & Reliability

  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor at all times.
  • Report to work consistently and on time according to the established schedule, and obtain appropriate approval for schedule changes.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, confidentiality, and respect in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator, supervisor, or individual served.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 1 year Supervisory experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and displaying severe verbal and physical behaviors
  • Availability to work every weekend
  • Availability to attend mandatory monthly meetings
  • Ability to work in Shingle Springs
  • Willingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 60-days of hire

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform physical aspects of residential care and crisis response

  • High School Diploma

Compensation:

  • $29.58 - $32.64/hour
