Lead Application Engineer

Position Overview:

We are looking for aLead Application Engineer to join our team and lead the development of key projects across our application. This senior-level role requires someone who can independently drive projects from ideation through to delivery, across multiple layers of the stack: UI, backend, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of SaaS cloud architectures, excellent coding skills, and experience building scalable, high-performance applications. Exposure to AI and machine learning is a plus as we continue to integrate advanced features into our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex projects across the application stack (UI, backend, infrastructure).

• Collaborate with CTO and CEO to define project requirements and designs

• Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability through best practices in cloud architecture and software engineering.

• Own and drive the full development lifecycle, from architecture design and system integration to testing and production release.

• Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring the quality of their work.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI innovations to contribute to the evolution of our product.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a track record of independently leading significant technical projects.

• Strong expertise in cloud SaaS development, with experience in architecting scalable, high-availability systems.

• Proficiency in backend technologies (Python preferred) and familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc.).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying applications in a microservices architecture.

• Knowledge of data modeling, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and experience working with complex data structures.

• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or natural language processing, with a experience integrating AI technologies into applications.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) or knowledge graphs.

• Familiarity with legal industry workflows or legal technology solutions.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
