Lawyer - Montreal

Based in Montréal, the Lawyer provides legal expertise to the company’s stakeholders in their legal matters, particularly transactional matters (acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and development).

• Negotiate, draft, and review letters of intent, offers to purchase or sell, promises to purchase or sell, and purchase and sale agreements (asset or share transactions);
• Negotiate, draft, and review documents related to asset acquisitions or dispositions, including closing documentation;
• Negotiate, draft, and review partnership agreements;
• Conduct legal due diligence with respect to acquired properties and/or businesses and coordinate due diligence with other relevant departments;
• Negotiate and review documentation required for the financing and/or refinancing of company properties;
• Advise and support members of the Development Department;
• Negotiate, draft, and review offers to lease, commercial leases, renewals, amendments, and lease assignments;
• Advise property managers and other departments in certain decision-making processes and in the interpretation of leases;
• Negotiate, draft, and review various operational agreements;
• Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.);
• Be a member in good standing of the Bar;
• Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role;
• Have experience in commercial real estate (acquisitions and financing, commercial leases and development);
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
