The Insurance Underwriting Department offers a culture of empowerment to produce results and resolve clients’ issues. Role Description:

As aLarge Casualty Regional Underwriting Manager, you will play an integral role in driving profitable growth within your assigned territory by underwriting and servicing complex, multi-line large deductible accounts. You will develop strong relationships with brokers and insureds, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and build a robust pipeline designed to achieve financial objectives.

In this role, you will evaluate new and renewal opportunities by analyzing applications, loss control reports, financial statements, loss experience, claim files, and other underwriting information. You will determine appropriate aggregate attachments, limits, retention levels, and premiums while evaluating reinsurance needs and operating within delegated underwriting authority. You will collaborate closely with Actuarial, Legal, and Claims to develop effective pricing approaches, address contracts and compliance matters, and support the delivery of claims services.

You will also serve as a visible representative of Safety National in the marketplace, conducting producer and client meetings and clearly communicating our value proposition. Your ability to develop agency relationships, negotiate favorable outcomes, use data to make sound business decisions, and provide advice and counsel to fellow underwriters will help position both you and the organization for long-term success.

Qualifications:

Education:

A BA/BS degree or equivalent is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Large deductible/national account underwriting and sales experience
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a field underwriting production environment
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to use data to make effective business decisions
  • Ability to analyze complex account opportunities and structure programs to support sustainable profitability
  • Strong relationship-building, customer service, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to develop productive broker and insured relationships and identify opportunities for profitable growth
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our Atlanta Regional Office, located at 1105 Lakewood Parkway Suite 125, Alpharetta, GA. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work from Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • Record of consistently high performance and achievement
  • Experience in leadership roles
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • CPCU designation

In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target base salary range for this position is $133,000 to $172,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
