Labor & Employment Associate, Los Angeles

Position Overview

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to join its growing practice in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have 4–8 years of experience in employment counseling and litigation, including wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff matters involving discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a growing national practice group and work on a diverse range of complex labor and employment matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise employers on employment-related legal issues, workplace policies, and compliance matters.

• Handle employment litigation, including wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff disputes.

• Work on cases involving discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.

• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation documents.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings as appropriate.

• Support clients on restrictive covenant and traditional labor matters, as applicable.

• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to deliver effective legal solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in labor and employment law.

• Experience in employment counseling and litigation.

• Experience handling wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff employment disputes.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and motion-drafting skills.

• Proficiency in taking and defending depositions.

• Trial and/or trial preparation experience.

• Admission to practice law in theState of California.

• Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with restrictive covenants.

• Traditional labor law experience.

Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range is$215,000–$255,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
