Must have Bachelors and CA Tech Supervisor LicensureĀ
*Ensures the satisfactory performance of the entire phlebotomy function which
includes overseeing scheduling, training, and all HR responsibilities.
*Provides technical training in all areas of responsibility.
*Confirms abnormal results and calls the facility to obtain clinical information on
patients with ārare and improbableā test results.
*Reviews payroll, incident, accident and corrected reports.
Ā *Maintains the Technical Procedure Manuals, with periodic updates.
Ā *Reviews all technical procedures prior to presentation to lab director for approval.
Ā *Ensures that QC is within appropriate limits and that all test results are accurate for
Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis testing.
* Performs assessment of the efficiency of the utilization of all resources in areas of
responsibility, including personnel management, equipment/reagent responsibility,
equipment/reagent evaluation and method development.
* Works with vendors to bring new analyzers and methods on-line.
Ā *Conducts performance evaluations and competencies for all departmental staff
personnel.
*Analyzes and records all monitors of all quality assurance systems required to
maintain precision and accuracy, including proficiency testing.
Ā *Schedules and maintains complete coverage of all shifts in the laboratory.
Ā *Performs assessment of the operation of all instruments in areas of responsibility and
assigns maintenance procedures or repairs as needed.
Ā *Ensures all documentation required by regulatory agencies, including quality control,
maintenance and service records, and all documentation required for general
operation of the laboratory is available.
Ā *Ensures QC for all tests in department and monitors QC reports/data.
Ā *Assigns priority and performs bench work in the laboratory, as needed.
Ā *Ensures the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment according to OSHA
and CLIA regulations
Ā *Troubleshoots problems (client, instrument, and computer) as needed.
Ā Identifies and pursues self-improvement needs.
Ā *Seeks coaching/mentoring when appropriate.
Ā *Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ā Maintains inventory of supplies utilized by all laboratory areas and re-orders as assigned
- Professional Experience/Educational Requirements
- Bachelorās Degree required; MT (ASCP or equivalent) preferred.
- Four years progressively responsible laboratory experience.
- Must qualify under CLIA regulations as a technical supervisor.
