The Role
We are seeking a full-timeLab Assistant to provide administrative support to our ART laboratories in Farmington, CT. You’ll keep lab records, patient communications, shipments, and supply inventory running smoothly so our embryologists and andrologists can focus on patient care. This is a great fit for a highly organized, detail-driven professional who enjoys being the go-to person behind a busy lab.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the administrative hub of the IVF and andrology laboratories, working closely with lab staff, physicians, and patients.
- Set up and coordinate IVF and andrology lab charts, confirming the proper consents and requisitions are in place
- Enter laboratory data into the EMR and other databases, and report IVF cycle data and birth outcomes to SART
- Release records to patients and referring physicians, and prepare and send cycle summaries and other patient correspondence
- Manage the embryo and sperm disposal line, providing patients with the right consents and information and ensuring disposal documentation is complete
- Coordinate embryo and donor sperm shipments, acting as liaison between patients, the laboratories, couriers, and long-term storage companies
- Contact patients on the abandonment list and coordinate the abandonment designation process
- Perform weekly inventory checks, maintain the inventory database, order lab supplies, and manage vendor relationships, standing orders, and delivery schedules
- Keep the supply storage area organized and assist with escorting patients to collection rooms as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
- Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and stay flexible in a fast-paced lab environment
- Exemplary phone and patient service skills, with sensitivity and discretion when handling patient matters
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, based in Farmington, CT. Occasional weekend coverage may be requested, averaging two weekend days (Saturday or Sunday) per month. Expect occasional travel, about one day per month, to our Hartford, Branford, or Danbury offices to facilitate equipment updates.

Pay range:$22.00 to $26.00 per hour (based on experience)
