We are seeking an accomplishedPrincipal RAMS / Reliability & Systems Safety Engineer to join our engineering organization and contribute to the development and certification of next-generation aerospace systems acrossAvionics, Interiors, Landing Systems, Cargo Systems, and other complex aircraft platforms.

This is a senior technical role with responsibility forRAMS analysis, systems safety, technical leadership, customer engagement, and engineering decision-making from product development through certification and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

RAMS & System Safety Engineering

  • LeadReliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) activities for complex aerospace systems and products.

  • Perform system safety and reliability assessments in accordance withSAE ARP4761/ARP4761A, ARP4754/ARP4754A, MIL-STD-882E, and applicable aviation certification requirements.

  • Lead and review:

    • Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA)

    • System Safety Assessments (SSA)

    • Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA)

    • Fault Tree Analyses (FTA)

    • Failure Modes & Effects Analyses (FMEA)

    • Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analyses (FMECA)

    • Common Mode/Common Cause Analyses

    • Fault Tolerance Analyses

    • Reliability Predictions

    • Dispatch and Mission Reliability Assessments

Reliability Engineering

  • Perform reliability prediction atsystem, functional block, assembly, and component levels.

  • Conduct component stress analysis and reliability assessments for electronic and mechanical products.

  • Develop and evaluateMTBF, MTBUR, and related reliability metrics.

  • Perform aircraft-level reliability analyses supportingdispatch reliability and mission reliability.

  • Apply relevant reliability methodologies and standards, includingMIL-HDBK-217 and MIL-STD-338.

  • Conduct data and trend analysis to identify reliability risks and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support reliability growth activities throughout product development.

Failure Investigation & Technical Analysis

  • Performelectronics and system failure investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective design solutions.

  • ConductSingle Event Effects (SEE) assessments.

  • Perform fault-tolerance assessments for electronic circuits using engineering judgment and tools such asLTspice.

  • Understand component failure mechanisms and their impact on system reliability and safety.

  • Review and interpretmechanical drawings, system architectures, interfaces, and stress analysis results.

  • Provide technical recommendations to improve product reliability, robustness, and fault tolerance.

Systems & Design Engineering Support

  • Collaborate withSystems, Hardware, Software, Electronics, Mechanical Design, Performance, Certification, and Test Engineering teams.

  • Work closely with global engineering counterparts to deliver high-quality RAMS and safety analyses.

  • Support engineering teams in defining, decomposing, allocating, and verifyingsystem safety and reliability requirements.

  • Provide RAMS inputs during system architecture, design, development, verification, and certification activities.

  • Evaluate the impact of design changes on reliability and system safety.

  • Support technical reviews, design reviews, qualification activities, and certification deliverables.

Technical Leadership & Customer Interface

  • Serve as aRAMS / Systems Safety technical authority for complex aerospace programs.

  • Act as aSystems Safety Architect and Subject Matter Expert for assigned programs.

  • Support customer reviews, certification activities, technical audits, and program milestones.

  • Lead technical proposal preparation and provide expert inputs during customer and independent reviews.

  • Present complex technical information clearly to engineering teams, management, certification authorities, and customers.

  • Provide technical guidance on achieving reliability and safety objectives while meeting program schedules and requirements.

  • Mentor engineers in RAMS processes, methodologies, tools, and technical practices.

  • Drive improvements in analysis methods, tools, automation, and engineering processes.

Tools & Technical Environment

Experience with the following tools and technologies is preferred:

  • CAFTA – Fault Tree Analysis

  • Windchill Quality System

  • JAMA – Requirements Management

  • Confluence

  • LTspice

  • CATIA / Siemens NX (UG)

  • Microsoft Excel / VBA automation

  • Reliability prediction and RAMS analysis tools

Standards & Certification Knowledge

Strong working knowledge of relevant aerospace and military standards, including:

  • SAE ARP4761 / ARP4761A

  • SAE ARP4754 / ARP4754A

  • MIL-STD-882 / MIL-STD-882E

  • MIL-HDBK-217

  • MIL-STD-338

  • FAA/JAA certification requirements

  • 14 CFR / CS 25.1309

  • ApplicableAC/AMJ 25.1309 guidance

Basic Qualifications

  • M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. or B.E./B.Tech. inMechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace reliability, RAMS, system safety, avionics, embedded systems, or related fields.

  • 7+ Years of strong hands-on experience withARP4761/ARP4754-based safety assessment processes.

  • 8+ Years demonstrated expertise inFMEA/FMECA, FTA, FHA, PSSA, SSA, reliability prediction, and fault tolerance analysis.

  • 10+ Years of Strong understanding ofreliability engineering theory, failure mechanisms, reliability prediction, and statistical analysis.

  • 7+ Years of Experience working onaircraft systems, avionics, embedded systems, or other safety-critical products.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, product architecture, system interfaces, and engineering analysis.

  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, presentation, and customer-interfacing skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex engineering activities while balancing priorities, schedules, and program objectives.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions based on technical data and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise withCAFTA, Windchill Quality System, JAMA, and Confluence.

  • Experience withLTspice or equivalent circuit simulation tools.

  • Experience withSingle Event Effects (SEE) analysis.

  • Experience withVBA/macros and engineering automation.

  • Experience with aircraft-leveldispatch reliability and mission reliability.

  • Experience working with international engineering teams and customers.

  • Previous experience as aTechnical Lead, Systems Safety Architect, RAMS Lead, or Subject Matter Expert.
