Job Summary: We are looking for a V&V Senior Engineer with strong hands-on experience in functional testing, API testing, SQL/database validation, test automation, and Agile development environments. The ideal candidate should be able to independently plan and execute testing activities, estimate testing efforts, contribute to automation, and effectively use AI tools to improve testing efficiency and productivity.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed functional test specifications for device, subsystem, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Plan, execute, and manage functional testing activities across the software and system lifecycle.
• Perform API testing and validate requests, responses, integrations, and system behavior using tools such as Postman or equivalent.
• Write and execute SQL queries for database testing, data validation, backend verification, and troubleshooting.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright (PW) or other suitable automation tools/frameworks.
• Conduct subsystem, system, user-level, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Prepare test estimates, effort calculations, task sizing, and resource requirements for testing activities.
• Work within Agile teams and participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies as required.
• Document test results, identify and report defects, and work closely with development and engineering teams through defect resolution.
• Prepare and issue test reports and participate in defect reviews and project test reviews.
• Prepare and maintain test environments and configurations required for testing.
• Conduct reliability, environmental, and customer-facing testing as required.
• Liaise with Engineering teams, project stakeholders, and customers regarding testing activities and results.
• Support the automation of testing activities and identify opportunities to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Use AI tools responsibly to improve test planning, test-case generation, analysis, automation, troubleshooting, and overall testing productivity.
• Provide input into bid and project estimation activities related to testing.
• Support resource allocation and planning for testing activities.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other Test/V&V engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers and help strengthen testing capabilities within the team.
• Develop and maintain training and knowledge-sharing material through Confluence, presentations, videos, or other appropriate formats.
• Help reduce knowledge dependencies and single points of failure within the testing team.
• Participate in interviews and technical evaluations as required.
• Comply with Cubic’s values and all company policies and procedures, including code of conduct, quality, security, occupational health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager from time to time.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Five (5)+ years of hands-on experience in software/system testing, with strong experience in functional testing.
• Strong experience infunctional test planning, test estimation, effort calculation, and task sizing.
• Hands-on experience withAPI testing, including validating requests/responses, integrations, and system behavior.
• StrongSQL skills, with the ability to independently write SQL queries for database testing and data validation.
• Hands-on experience withtest automation, preferably usingPlaywright (PW) or a comparable automation tool/framework.
• Experience developing, executing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated test scripts.
• Good understanding ofAgile methodologies and experience working within Agile development teams.
• Experience with test management, defect management, test reporting, and software testing methodologies.
• Practical experience usingAI tools to support software testing activities and improve productivity.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to independently drive testing activities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Good to have:

• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
• Experience withMicrosoft Dynamics CRM (MSD CRM) testing and related business processes.
• Experience with device/system testing or other real-world hardware/software products.
• Experience with reliability, environmental, integration, or customer-facing testing.
• Experience contributing to test framework development or broader test automation strategy.
