
Secondary Teachers - short-term assignments
Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) is seeking experienced and motivatedSecondary Teachers for short-term teaching assignments across Papua New Guinea for the remainder of 2026.
KTF delivers education programs across PNG, including in rural and remote communities, supporting students to continue their secondary education and work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
We are looking for qualified secondary teachers who areavailable to commence immediately and are interested in supporting students through an intensive period of teaching, revision, assessment and preparation for end-of-year examinations.
ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT
Successful applicants may be engaged for short-term assignments at KTF-supported education locations across PNG.
Depending on the location and student needs, teachers may be required to:
- Deliver secondary-level teaching and targeted revision;
- Support Grade 9–12 students with their learning and assessments;
- Prepare students for end-of-year examinations;
- Provide additional academic support and mentoring;
- Mark and provide feedback on student work;
- Monitor student progress and identify areas requiring additional support; and
- Work alongside KTF education teams to help students achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
Assignments may involve travel and placement inrural and remote locations, so applicants should be flexible, adaptable and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor of Education – Secondary Education;
- Full teacher registration;
- Secondary teaching experience;
- Strong classroom teaching, communication and student mentoring skills;
- Ability to work effectively in rural and remote environments; and
- The right to work in Papua New Guinea.
Experience teachingGrades 9–12 and familiarity with theFODE curriculum will be highly regarded.
Teachers across a range ofsecondary subject specialisations are encouraged to apply.
