POSITION SUMMARY
The KS Community Impact Coordinator serves as a brand advocate for the Credit Union and plays a key role in enhancing the organization’s visibility, reputation, and community presence throughout assigned Kansas markets. This position is responsible for executing an established calendar of sponsorships, partnerships, and community events while also identifying and implementing innovative opportunities to expand community impact and brand awareness.
The Community Impact Coordinator builds and maintains strategic relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, educational institutions, and business partners. The role supports market-specific outreach initiatives, assists in the development of localized marketing efforts, and drives business growth through referrals to branches and internal departments.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm with occasional weekends and evenings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive:
- Collaborate with community partners and organizations within assigned service areas to ensure timely, accurate, and effective communication regarding sponsored or supported events.
- Plan, organize, and execute community sponsorships and events, including internal and external communications, payment coordination, employee volunteer recruitment, collateral management (logos, signage, flyers, giveaways), and photo capture for social media and marketing use.
- Coordinate and support community outreach programs and special events that enhance public perception and promote the Credit Union’s products and services.
- Assist with planning and execution of larger, long-term brand sponsorships (e.g., sports teams, venues, or multi-year partnerships) to maximize marketing exposure and business development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate community relations tracking and documentation for marketing analytics, compliance reporting, and internal reporting purposes.
- Represent the Credit Union in person at community events, check presentations, partner meetings, and public gatherings on a regular basis.
- Recruit, schedule, and organize employee volunteers for community service and business development events.
- Promote Credit Union products and services at community events and provide market feedback to Growth Strategies, Marketing, and branch leadership teams.
- Support execution of initiatives outlined in business development and community sponsorship plans aligned with corporate strategy.
- Build and maintain professional, trusted relationships with key community leaders, nonprofit organizations, business partners, and educational institutions.
- Serve as staff liaison to designated community groups or organizations identified as strategic priorities within the market.
- Ensure all activities align with Credit Union brand standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Business Development, Community Development, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Knowledge
- Knowledge of community engagement principles and relationship-building best practices.
- Understanding of event planning, logistics, and sponsorship management.
- Familiarity with volunteer recruitment, coordination, and engagement strategies.
- Basic knowledge of marketing, branding, and communication techniques.
- Awareness of financial institution or credit union culture and member-focused service models preferred.
Experience Required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in event planning, community outreach, volunteer coordination, sales, marketing, or business development.
- Demonstrated success in providing excellent member or client service.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute successful events and initiatives.
- Experience representing an organization in public or community-facing settings preferred.
HARD/TECHNICAL SKills/Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple events, sponsorships, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and relationship-building.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, volunteers, and internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and tracking abilities.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and adapt plans to ensure successful execution of events.
- Proven ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with spreadsheets, tracking tools, and social media platforms.
- Ability to represent the Credit Union positively in the community, including evenings and occasional weekends as required.
