The Materials Controller is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, control, and distribution of materials to ensure efficient inventory management and uninterrupted operations. The role ensures accurate stock records, timely replenishment, and compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.Â
- Receive, unload, and check incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase ordersÂ
- Inspect materials for damage and report discrepanciesÂ
- Label, store, and organize stock in designated locationsÂ
- Pick, pack, and issue materials to internal departments or customersÂ
- Maintain accurate stock records (manual or system-based)Â
- Update inventory systems (ERP/WMS) as requiredÂ
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stock auditsÂ
- Monitor stock levels and report low stock to supervisorsÂ
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials (including hazardous items if applicable)Â
- Keep the store/warehouse clean, organized, and safeÂ
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) where licensedÂ
- Follow company health & safety procedures at all timesÂ
- Assist with returns, damaged goods processing, and disposal proceduresÂ
- Forklift experience would be great - but not essential
- Computer literacyÂ

This role requires flexibility of working location and will occasionally need to be based at the Third-Party Logistics Provider at Thatcham. Â
Please note - This is a full time contract position, with the potential of going permanent in the future.
