WHO WE ARE āš¼
Kintiga is a panāEuropean specialist consultancy supporting health technology developers to achieve successful market access across Europe through a tailored, locally informed and globally connected approach.
Our clients span pharma, biotech, medtech, digital health and diagnostics. We partner with leading innovators to support the successful launch and reimbursement of breakthrough therapies and technologies.
At Kintiga, we foster a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture where expertise, curiosity and impact matter. We value diversity, openness and integrity, and encourage our people to bring ideas, energy and ambition to their work. You will join a dynamic, supportive team focused on innovation, lifelong learning and delivering meaningful outcomes in healthcare and life sciences.
ROLE PURPOSE š
Kintiga is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Senior Director to play an instrumental role in growing our German consulting team. This is a pivotal country leadership role, accountable for commercial performance, senior client partnerships, delivery quality, and team development across the full range of strategic market access services.
The role requires strong command of the German pharmaceutical access environment, along with the EU HTA and Joint Clinical Assessment and their implications for German and multinational launch strategy. As a senior leader for Germany, you will help to shape and execute Kintigaās strategy locally, build a high-performing multidisciplinary team, deepen relationships with biopharma clients and health-system stakeholders, and act as a trusted expert advisor on evidence, value, reimbursement, and patient access.
The role also calls for genuine strategy-consulting capability: the ability to frame and advise on executive-level strategic questions, not only to lead technical market access delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ā
Strategic and operational leadership
- Contribute to the design and execution of the German country strategy in line with Kintigaās pan-European vision, growth priorities, and quality standards.
- Own the German delivery teamās performance, with accountability for sales, revenue, margin, utilisation, and contribution to group profitability.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities across existing and prospective clients, with particular focus on German launch strategy, AMNOG readiness, evidence generation, and EU HTA/JCA implications.
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships with senior biopharma clients, German payer and policy stakeholders, health-system experts, academic partners, and other relevant market access influencers.
- Provide clear performance visibility to the German MD and wider leadership team, including pipeline health, delivery capacity, client risk, and country-level priorities.
- Operate with broad latitude within agreed functional objectives, resource availability and German country priorities, escalating material risks or decisions where appropriate.
- Monitor German and European access, pricing, payer, policy and HTA developments, translating market changes into client insight, service development and account opportunities.
Client partnership and business development
- Act as a senior client partner and subject matter expert, providing strategic counsel on German market access, pricing and reimbursement, HEOR, evidence strategy, and policy trends.
- Lead and contribute to business development through proactive client engagement, opportunity shaping, proposal development, key account planning, and collaboration with the commercial team.
- Enable and drive cross-selling and integrated European offerings by working closely with colleagues across Kintigaās country teams and centres of excellence.
- Represent Kintiga at industry events, conferences, payer forums, and networking opportunities to build visibility and market presence in Germany.
- Contribute to thought leadership through publications, client briefings, webinars, and insight pieces on German and European access developments.
- Develop and maintain account plans for priority German and multinational clients, supporting both new business conversion and growth from existing relationships.
Delivery excellence
- Ensure high-quality delivery of consulting projects in line with client expectations, project scope, budget, timelines, and Kintiga standards.
- Oversee project governance, resourcing, risk management, and delivery processes to maintain quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
- Implement and embed consistent best practices in project management, scoping, senior client communication, quality review, and performance tracking and issue escalation
- Drive continuous improvement in ways of working, knowledge management, templates, and delivery efficiency for German and cross-European work.
- Work with operations and finance to ensure accurate forecasting, resource planning, pricing discipline, and timely issue escalation.
- Develop and improve repeatable methods, tools, templates and playbooks for German Strategy & Market Access work, ensuring consistency and scalability across projects.
- Review and sign off proposals, client-ready deliverables and strategic recommendations within area of expertise, coordinating specialist input where required.
Team leadership and development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing consulting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, scientific quality, and commercial confidence.
- Ensure effective collaboration between technical delivery, commercial, operations, finance, and wider European teams so that growth is well resourced and operationally sustainable.
- Provide strategic guidance and professional development to consultants, building both technical depth and client-facing consulting capability.
- Work with regional and group leadership to build delivery capacity, succession plans, recruitment priorities, and a strong German talent pipeline.
- Provide internal guidance on complex methodological, policy, pricing, evidence, and access strategy questions, including German-specific implications for multinational engagements.
ABOUT YOU šĀ
Qualifications and experience
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical market access, pricing and reimbursement, HEOR, evidence strategy, or related consulting and industry leadership roles; level and trajectory matter more than tenure alone, and a rising Senior Manager or Junior Partner from a strategy house may be as suitable as a longer-serving specialist.
- Substantive strategy-consulting experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare context, ideally gained in a strategy consultancy, with the ability to frame and advise on executive-level strategic questions rather than technical delivery alone.
- Advanced degree in health economics, life sciences, public health, epidemiology, statistics, business, or a related field; PhD, MSc, MPH, MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of the German healthcare, reimbursement, and payer environment, including AMNOG, G-BA, IQWiG, GKV-Spitzenverband, SHI/GKV dynamics, and German launch requirements.
- Strong knowledge of European market access and HTA developments, including the interface between EU HTA/JCA and national German evidence and reimbursement requirements.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen in a consulting environment, with proven ability to translate technical expertise into strategic client value and profitable growth.
- Proven track record in business development, proposal leadership, account growth, and senior client relationship management.
- Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary consulting teams, ideally across hybrid or multi-country operating models.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English; credibility with both German stakeholders and international client decision-makers is essential.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Key competencies
- Entrepreneurial senior country leader with strong commercial judgement and a bias for action.
- Credible senior expert in German and European pharmaceutical access, capable of advising clients at executive level.
- Collaborative leader who builds trust, creates clarity, and develops high-performing consultants.
- Strong client presence, consultative style, and ability to turn complex evidence and policy issues into practical recommendations.
- Committed to scientific quality, delivery excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Able to work effectively across a boutique, pan-European consulting environment, balancing local accountability with group-wide collaboration.
- Able to build scalable capability through methods, playbooks, coaching, quality standards and repeatable delivery approaches.
- Commercially savvy and able to connect technical insight, client need, and business impact.
- Strategic-consulting mindset: able to structure ambiguous, executive-level problems and shape strategy, not only to deliver defined market access workstreams.
