Schedule/Hours: Seasonal/Full-Time (evenings and Saturdays may be required), 40 hours/week

This position is responsible for:
Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same; may drive a Salvation Army vehicle to drive kettle workers to and from locations and/or pick up kettles.
Â
Key Responsibilities:
Â
- Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
Â
- Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.

- Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
Â
- Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.

- Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
Â
- Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.
Â
- Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
Â
- Assists with counting, recording and depositing of kettle funds.
Â
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Â
- Ability to become and remain certified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
Â
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Â
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Â
- Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Â
- Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time.
Â
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Â
- Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions. Dressing appropriately is important for remaining safe and comfortable.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
- High School diploma or GED,AND
Â
- One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred,OR
Â
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Â
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid State Driver’s License required, with ability to meet Salvation Army driving requirements for insurance purposes and remain qualified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle throughout the course of employment in this position.
