Kabisa is looking for a Kenya Finance Manager to drive regional vehicle inventory and purchasing strategy, lead Kenya's day-to-day financial operations, and collaborate with our Rwanda Finance Manager to deliver unified financial reporting for executive decision-making.

In this role, you will lead high-stakes decisions around vehicle purchasing cadence, working capital optimization, and supplier financing across our footprint. You will directly manage Kenya's day-to-day books and compliance while partnering with Rwanda's Finance Manager to build consolidated regional management accounts, forecasts, and strategic budgets.

Location:Nairobi, Kenya (with travel between Kenya and Rwanda)

Reports into:Managing Director, Rwanda

JOB SUMMARY

The Kenya Finance Manager combines regional strategic responsibility with direct local execution. You will oversee vehicle inventory and working capital strategy across markets, run Kenya's core accounting, AP/AR, and tax functions, and partner with the Rwanda Finance Manager (who owns Rwanda's local books and monthly close) to compile consolidated regional financial reporting and analysis for leadership.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Vehicle inventory represents Kabisa's single largest commitment of capital. Optimizing how, when, and where we buy vehicles directly extends our runway, frees up cash for growth, and unlocks commercial scale. By establishing robust Kenya financial operations and unifying financial intelligence across Rwanda and Kenya, this role ensures Kabisa scales efficiently with complete capital discipline.

As Kabisa expands across the region, a strong performer in this role has real room to grow in their scope and responsibility.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Vehicle inventory & working capital strategy

  • Analyze and structure vehicle purchasing decisions, including order timing, volumes, supplier credit terms, and trade financing (e.g., LCs and import lines).

  • Design and monitor a regional purchasing cadence that balances vehicle inventory availability with optimal cash preservation.

  • Build and maintain consolidated regional cash flow forecasts, tracking inventory commitments and working capital across both Kenya and Rwanda.

  • Coordinate regional vehicle procurement payments, freight/import documentation, and banking partner relationships.

Kenya financial operations & accounting

  • Own day-to-day accounting, general ledger, AP/AR, and monthly financial close for Kenya entity.

  • Ensure 100% compliance with Kenya tax laws (VAT, PAYE, WHT, corporate income tax) and local statutory filings, partnering with external local advisors as needed.

  • Maintain internal financial controls, banking relationships, and audit-readiness for all Kenya operations.

  • Manage Kenya operating budgets and drive local cost control across operational teams.

Regional FP&A & cross-country consolidation

  • Collaborate with the Rwanda Finance Manager to compile unified monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) across both markets.

  • Lead regional annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes across Kenya and Rwanda.

  • Build financial models for growth initiatives, pricing strategies, unit economics (cost per km, margin analysis), and expansion scenarios.

  • Provide regular, actionable financial updates and strategic recommendations directly to the Managing Director, Rwanda.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, or corporate finance with hands-on accounting experience (experience in automotive, logistics, e-mobility, or energy sectors preferred).

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; CPA (K) or ACCA qualification required.

  • Proven track record in managing Kenya accounting operations, local statutory compliance, and tax filings.

  • Strong experience in working capital management, trade finance, and inventory forecasting across multiple markets.

  • Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and proficiency with cloud accounting platforms (Xero or similar).

  • Strong collaborative mindset to effectively consolidate reporting with country leads like the Rwanda Finance Manager.

  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex numbers into business action for the MD and leadership team.

  • English fluency required; Swahili, Kinyarwanda, or French proficiency is an added advantage.
