Junior Manufacturing Engineer – Job RequisitionÂ
Job SummaryÂ
We are seeking a motivated Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment. This role provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment while contributing to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.Â
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
Assist in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, equipment, and controls under the guidance of senior engineersÂ
Support analysis and planning of labor utilization, equipment requirements, workflow, and manufacturing layouts to improve efficiencyÂ
Participate in prototype development, builds, and production launch activitiesÂ
Learn and apply new manufacturing technologies that contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational efficiencyÂ
Attend product design reviews to provide input on manufacturability and cost effectivenessÂ
Assist in preparing manufacturing studies related to cost, quality, inventory levels, and process capabilityÂ
Support implementation of process improvements involving materials, labor, tooling, equipment, and layoutsÂ
Collaborate with senior engineers in selecting and developing tooling and equipment to meet manufacturing requirementsÂ
Participate in training coordination for new processes to ensure production readinessÂ
Contribute to the establishment and verification of poka-yoke (error-proofing) systemsÂ
Provide technical support for problem-solving teams and continuous improvement initiativesÂ
Assist in new program launches as part of cross-functional teamsÂ
Work closely with production teams to support key performance measures and line balancingÂ
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and provide status updates as neededÂ
Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including production operators, supervisors, engineering teams, and managementÂ
Complete all required training as mandated by the company and customersÂ
Perform other duties and special projects as assignedÂ
Quality, Safety & Compliance ResponsibilitiesÂ
Support compliance with ISO and IATF 16949 standardsÂ
Assist in developing and maintaining PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and Operator Instruction SheetsÂ
Collaborate with Ergonomics and Health & Safety teams to ensure safe workstation and line designÂ
Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standardsÂ
Report occupational injuries, illnesses, accidents, and unsafe conditions promptlyÂ
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for safety, ergonomics, and environmental performanceÂ

Required QualificationsÂ
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldÂ
0-2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related manufacturing role (internship or co-op experience acceptable; automotive experience preferred)Â
Basic understanding of product design and assembly processesÂ
Familiarity with PFMEA principles, Control Plans, Process Flows, and manufacturing documentationÂ
Willingness to learn and apply hands-on manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, and equipment implementationÂ
Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Â
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, production personnel, and managementÂ
Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skillsÂ
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teamsÂ
Eagerness to develop technical skills and grow within the manufacturing engineering disciplineÂ
Willingness for future relocation to other facilities as neededÂ
Preferred QualificationsÂ
Internship or co-op experience in automotive manufacturingÂ
Understanding of assembly processes including sequencing, line balancing, and production flow optimizationÂ
Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesÂ
Basic CAD knowledge (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)Â
Experience presenting technical information to diverse audiencesÂ
Work ScheduleÂ
1st shift (6:00 AM – 3:30 PM)Â
Must be able to flex time, work overtime, and support off-shift activities as needed for major process changes or launchesÂ
