Who We Are

Established in 2005, Brook Landscape is a landscape design-build agency specializing in urban outdoor environments, with clients across the New York region and a growing presence beyond. In our design-forward setting, projects move from idea to built space quickly, with designers, builders, and horticulture teams working side by side from start to finish.

Our mission is to create intentional and timeless outdoor spaces that reflect our clients’ values and connect people with the places they live and spend time in. In this role, you’ll help bring that mission to life through thoughtful, closely connected work, with the satisfaction of knowing the spaces you contribute to become places people spend time in, return to, and enjoy.

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Installer on our Horticulture Team, you’ll support planting, irrigation, and lighting work while learning how high-quality landscapes are built on active job sites. You’ll work alongside experienced installers, developing strong field habits and a clear understanding of site flow, materials, and installation fundamentals.

This role is intended as a foundational position, with growth toward an Installer role based on demonstrated skill development, consistency, and reliability over time.

  • Show up prepared and attentive, review daily call times, and participate in morning setup and end-of-day cleanup

  • Work alongside Leads and senior installers to learn how work, materials, and site flow are organized

  • Assist with planting trees, shrubs, and perennials, including soil preparation, digging, backfilling, mulching, and watering-in, with guidance from Lead

  • Support irrigation and landscape lighting installation under supervision

  • Load, unload, and stage plants, tools, and materials to support daily task transitions to understand job workflows and expectations

  • Follow Lead direction to keep projects moving efficiently and safely, while learning proper sequencing and task prioritization

  • Observe and practice proper plant handing during installation to support healthy establishment

  • Communicate clearly with team members about materials, needs, or workflow changes, escalating questions or uncertainties to the Lead

  • Help document site progress through photos or notes when asked

  • Maintain professional conduct on job sites and direct client questions to the Lead

  • Assist with shop, yard, nursery, vehicle organization, and occasional local errands or deliveries

  • Learn how plants, soils, mulches, irrigation parts, and lighting components are sourced, handled, and delivered

  • Follow all safety practices, including PPE use, ladder safety, and proper tool and equipment handling

How Success Is Measured in This Role

Junior Installers are evaluated on reliability, ability to follow direction, safe work habits, retention of instruction, and demonstrated improvement in speed, accuracy, and confidence over time. This role focuses on learning and skill development rather than independent execution.

What You’ll Have

  • Interest in landscape, horticulture, construction, or hands-on outdoor work; prior experience helpful but not required

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50+ lbs, and work outdoors in varied weather conditions

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and readiness for early starts

  • Familiarity with basic planting practices; exposure to irrigation or lighting is helpful but not required

  • A good attitude, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn

  • Comfort working as part of a crew and taking direction from Leads

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred but not required
